How is it that we have been punching holes through papers since the dawn of the three-ring binders and have only now figured out that it might be nice to see where that hole is going?!... Design to the rescue! The transparent punch, a concept by Kisang Yoon and Kyubok Lee, is, as usual, what we didn't know we were waiting for. Often I tend to rail against work that for too long lays hidden at the bottom of talented designers' drawers, waiting for an opportunity to shine, but I will make an exception for this object because its beauty is equaled only by the solution it provides to this most ignored of headaches.
Not all thorns in humanity's fleshy side, in fact, are of the "We are the World" variety--some are small, manageable, and easy to resolve by listening to those contemporaries, such as Yoon and Lee, who have laid aside some time to help. Seeing where the hole punch goes is an action that should, and can now be, finally, Character Approved!
