Simplicity in Humidification

Written By Stefan Boublil

Jan 24, 2011

Stefan Boublil

Often, the objects of everyday are ignored by high-profile designers. That is why I want to hereby recognize Character Approved Stadler Form, a team of Swiss designers who have tackled that which especially encumbers our bedrooms as the cold and flu season rears its sniffly head: the lowly humidifier. They've managed to make this appliance efficient and beautiful, not the typical model that you and I might hide during the day so as not to clash with the rest of our well-curated homes.

Purposefully free-standing, these humidifiers push design in the same direction as moisture, forward, and do so without compromising function. They are also blessed with silent operation and LED control lights--what more could you ever want or need? I have come to dub the one in my own house the "Cube of Solace." (OK, so I am a bit dramatic when it come to naming the family appliances, but that does not make this Swiss-born machine any less extraordinary.)

The wondrous stylings of Stadler Form can be ordered from the swizz style website.
