A picnic is coming to NYC. A picnic that seats 1,000 people--all invited through word-of-mouth--where the diners wear stylish white clothing, listen to live music, and bring their own food. They sit on their own chairs and eat off of white tablecloths. In short, it's the best flash-mob party ever.

Known as "Le Dîner en Blanc" in France, the first one was held in the courtyard of the Louvre Museum, activating a monumental but otherwise boring space in the city and creating a one-of-a-kind event. The picnic is coming to New York City on August 25th. But where? The mystery is part of the fun. Signing up on the website puts you on the waiting list--what happens from there is anyone's guess.

All we can say is that this idea is so beautiful and resoundingly fun, it's nothing short of Character Approved.
