Take a Ride on the Do Good Bus

Written By Jerri Chou

Oct 17, 2011

Jerri Chou

What did the bus driver say to the frog?
Hop on.

The good old-fashioned bus. It brings back memories of field trips, group travel, and community activity. Now, the folks behind the Do Good Bus are using it to support local communities.

The group creates service trips for anyone who wants to get out there and do some good. You just get on the bus and they take care of the rest: the food, drink, and cause-based activity. Each trip is different and the locations are a secret (so people show up with an open mind and willingness to help).

They've partnered with local organizations like Friends of El Faro and LA Guerrilla Gardening, and now run regularly scheduled monthly trips. They're also hosting a special cross-country "Do Good Tour" this month with the band Foster the People.

The Do Good Bus' first goal is awareness. There are hundreds of worthy causes out there, and their mission is to show people how to support them. The team truly believes in the importance of creating a community, and what better way to make new friends than to ride together with like-minded folks and enjoy good food and good company?

They're currently based in LA, but you can check out and support this Character Approved organization online here.
