Good news, model enthusiasts and Chicago lovers: Chicago now has a grand architectural scale model of itself. Hey, why should New York have all the fun?
Of course this model hasn't been around since the 1964 World's Fair, so it's composed of digitally fabricated materials and is at a larger scale; when it is complete it will be enormous. It's currently housed in the Atrium Gallery at the Chicago Architecture Foundation. (This is not to be confused with the scale train model at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry for trains.)
This project is Character Approved for giving us a new way to see Chicago, and it's becoming the centerpiece of the new Chicago Architecture Foundation.
