Remember when you were little and you jumped on the bed and hit your head on the hanging lamp?
That's kind of the concept behind this lamp design by Julia Fellner. Called Yes!, the lamp is actually built out of the idea that when you jump for joy, you might make contact with something hanging from the ceiling. In this case, though, the lamp isn't there to cause you pain, but to capture the fun.
Yes! lamp is a flexible light made of paper that is manipulated by your hands and head as you jump. It allows you to be the designer, but rather than just simply manipulating the lamp methodically, you do it in a more organic way. Obviously you can create any shape you wish before you even hang the lamp, but that wouldn't that take all the fun out of it?
Yes! doesn't specifically consider the form of the lamp so much as the means and emotions that create it, and that makes it Character Approved.
