Glowcaps Interactively Remind You to Take Your Medication

If one of your resolutions in the new year was to get better about taking your prescribed medication or vitamins every day, you are not alone. Recent statistics show that more than half of people routinely forget to take their medicine. Thankfully, there is a wonderfully simple little gadget that might help you finally change your behavior.

GlowCaps are caps that fit most existing prescription medication bottles and connect wirelessly to the Internet to help you remember to take your medication in a few ingenious ways. They're programmed through an online interface to glow and play a ringtone when it is time for your medicine. If you open the cap within two hours of the alert, all is good and a compliance report is automatically sent to an email address that you specify. If you forget or happen to not be home, the system can call or text you directly with a reminder.

At the end of every week, a report can be mailed to a healthcare provider or family member, and you can check your progress. GlowCaps are the perfect blend of simple technology and smart design to help people stick to their medication schedules, and that makes them Character Approved.
