The artist and technologist Jonathan Harris, who brought us projects like We Feel Fine, the Whale Hunt, and the Balloons of Bhutan, is back with another project. Cowbird, which launched in December, is a visual storytelling tool, enabling writers to document stories and experiences taking place all over the world. Recently, users have uploaded visual stories about people and events they've found inspiring and motivational in their lives.
Jonathan Harris is Character Approved for once again showing us the important link between art and technology in the modern world. Similar to other online projects that Harris has created, Cowbird helps us to reimagine and rethink how we relate to technology and each other.
Though the Internet is creating more opportunities than ever before for sharing with each other, it is also creating more opportunities for online alienation. Harris, named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, has a larger vision for how the world works and how to humanize the presence of technology in our busy lives. We're optimistic that his new Cowbird project will be able to improve our experience on the Web by making it possible to share heartfelt, personal stories using beautiful, high-resolution imagery.
